A Florida man, upset by his girlfriend, a toddler, painted on a picture of him, viciously beat 3-year-old and pushed the naked girl in the shower, where she was found dead Friday, police said.

Dennys Llopiz, 27, was arrested Monday on first-degree murder charges in connection with the death of Skylar Hartley, Miami Beach, Police said, NBC 6 reported.

The arrest comes after authorities were called to Llopiz at home on Friday, where the 3-year-old girl was found naked and unresponsive, the news station reported. The apartment was in “the war” when officers arrived, according to NBC 6.

Llopiz allegedly told the authorities that he is the girl in the shower, because they defecated themselves. When he later became the name for her, Llopiz told the police the girl is not responding. When he returned to the bathroom, he claimed that he found the girl “slouched against a wall in the shower,” NBC 6 reported.

He also told the authorities Skylar had fallen on some rocks while fishing the day before, claiming the alleged fall caused “abrasions and a small injury” the girl’s head.

After her body was taken to a local medical center and monitored by a medical examiner, however, it was determined there was bruising on the girl’s head and face, a laceration on her liver, a few broken ribs and a ruptured air sac, according to a police report obtained by NBC 6.

On the basis of her injuries, the medical examiner determined she had suffered ” blunt force trauma a few hours before her death,” the report said.

When questioned, Maria Lopez, the mother of the girl, told authorities the girl had not fished, the day before they also had fallen on a rock. Police also reviewed text messages between Lopez and Llopiz that the man was angry with the young girl for painting a picture of him, according to NBC 6.

Llopiz is now in jail and is being held without bond.

“I thought that I was preparing a birthday, not a funeral,” Lopez told the news station her daughter’s birthday. “They don’t deserve it.”

A GoFundMe account has been created to help the family with the funeral.
