A Florida man, a raccoon in a fire after the animal ate the mangoes.
Police arrested an 88-year-old Florida man for burning a raccoon trapped in life because the animal had eaten his mangoes.
Ezra James, who lives in Palm Bay, told WKMG that he threw petrol over the raccoon and lit a match.
In addition to the mangoes, James said that he was afraid the raccoon would give him rabies.
A neighbor called 911 as the raccoon burned alive in a metal trap.
The police shot the raccoon to alleviate the suffering.
The authorities say that nuisance animals can be caught and released or humanely killed.
James says that he was released from jail after posting $ 2,000 bail on charges of animal cruelty resulting in death.
