A Florida man is charged with beating his sleeping father to death with a reserve boat alternator while 66 miles off the coast fishing, according to reports.
Casey Hickok, 32, was arrested in the second degree murder charges on Tuesday, The Naples Daily News reported.

If convicted, WWSB reported, he will face a maximum penalty of life in federal prison in the death of his father, Robert, 74, on board of a commercial fishing boat.
Multiple reports suggested the son could have been caused by a history of abuse.
Casey claimed Robert raped him a few times, when he was a child and had started “messing” with him before the last events have played out.

The Bradenton Herald reported that, according to the prison records, the son has previous arrests on suspicion of kidnapping, possession of a controlled substance, assault, possession of cocaine and violation of a protection of the provision. He has also earlier served two terms in prison in connection with aiding an escape and aggravated assault.
