Florida house candidate accused of lying about a college degree, NRA rating

Melissa Howard, a Republican seat operating for a Florida state House, was accused of lying about their academic credentials.

After questions about Melissa Howard’s academic credentials, the state house candidate posted a photo of what it said was a copy of your transcripts to Facebook. She also sent photos of what she said was her diploma on the media, reports the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

But Robin Parker, general counsel for the Miami University, told the Herald-Tribune that Howard never graduated from college, and inquired of the diploma authenticity.

He said the diploma-Howard produced, do not match those issued in the years 1994 and 1996, the years, you claimed that you graduated, or each year.

“The image of the diploma showing that Melissa Marie Fuchs received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing degree from Miami University on may 20. December 1996,” Parker told the newspaper, with Howard’s name maiden. “We have no such record of a degree.”


He also said that the University provides marketing majors with a Bachelor of Science in Business – marketing specifically. He also said that while the University is on the signature of the President, another administrator, the signature would not appear on the diploma.

The questions about the Howard universities were first reported by FLA-Online-News, which bills itself as “the conservative choice for Florida news and politics.”

It seems that your campaign website is available, and their campaign Facebook page has been removed.

According to the Herald-Tribune, Howard was also dishonest about their rating of the National Rifle Association. The newspaper said she wrote about an A-rating from the pro-gun organization on Facebook; however, Marion Hammer, a former NRA President, now leads the group is lobbying in Florida, said Howard actually receive a B-class.

Howard faces-Air-Force-veteran Tommy Gregory in the August 28 Republican primary. He told the newspaper that “the voters deserve nothing less than the truth and integrity of their elected representatives. Unfortunately, it seems that Melissa Howard has failed the test.”

On Facebook Saturday, Gregory said his “thoughts and prayers” were with the Howard’s ” fighting over your medical with Ian.” He also encouraged others to “be respectful” of the couple during this time.
