It seems that the director, Robbe De Hert, his documentary “Hollywood on the river Scheldt” will be able to finish. The flemish minister of Culture Sven Gatz (Open Vld) makes up to 50,000 euros.
Film director Robbe De Hert is struggling with financial worries to its latest documentary, “Hollywood to the Scheldt” to be able to work. For the finishing of his documentary about the history of the Belgian film, the 74-year-old Antwerp director, 100.000 euro is needed. In the meantime, is a charity program and crowdfunding set up and is there on may 13, a benefit evening is planned in Antwerp. Through the crowdfunding is all about 40,000 euros was raised.
The flemish minister of Culture Sven Gatz is now 50.000 euros to the project, to help realize. It comes to a budget rather from a Culture, but that amount was on hold posted because there were problems to obtain the additional financing to get around. Together with the crowdfunding comes the counter on 90,000 euros.
Minister Gatz hopes that the remaining 10,000 euro can still be found. “I want to thank from the Flemish government, over the resources, that were previously provided were, again, freeing up to an extra push in the back”, said minister Gatz. Gatz: “I hope that the subsidy of the Flemish government and the funds collected from the crowdfunding can make sure Robbe De Hert documentary can finish.”
