‘The illegitimate son of Lars Ulrich, Lita Ford, he calls himself. And on his first single he takes in Metallica shirts from H&M is shrouded johnny’s on the grain. Meet Fleddy Melculy, the new alter ego of The Fanfaar frontman Jeroen Camerlynck. ‘Fleddy is a creative egg that I was still in my hole had.”
‘In the seventies, it all started with Black Sabbath in the 80’s it was at Manowar and Iron Maiden, in the 90’s were Slayer and Metallica, and then … nothing more. But that’s in 2016 to change.’ Look at the mission statement of Fleddy Melculy, the alter ego that Jeroen ‘The Fanfaar’ Camerlynck in February a first ep release.
Who is Fleddy Melculy?
CAMERLYNCK: A creative egg that I was still in my hole had been, and that there is apparently urgently needed.
I find it funny how seriously many metal bands themselves, how they pretend to be innovative. Fleddy Melculy does precisely the reverse: he recycles everything to him ever occurred.
You are a metalfan?
CAMERLYNCK: Always have been, yes. My influences go from Motörhead about Korn and Metallica to Aborted. In the music of Fleddy Melculy can I lost everything what I cool find at metal and hardcore, and that is: without embarrassment all the clichés in a lot of throw. I find it quite funny how seriously a lot of metal bands themselves – and rightly so! and how they all pretend to be innovative. Fleddy Melculy does precisely the reverse: he recycles everything to him ever occurred.
See, with the exception of a band like Kvelertak, I have in the last ten years is hardly even metal heard that I thought: that sounds really fresh. I want to denounce to metal that is very – um – onvers sounds. (laughs)
On the first single T-shirt of Metallica, you put “johnny’s and marina’s with their H&M-shirts of Metallica and the Ramones’ in the falls.
CAMERLYNCK: And rightly so, right? I was shocked me a lot when I was a time ago t-shirts of the Ramones, Nirvana, Iron Maiden and Metallica saw it hanging in the H&M. even Worse: people buy that without knowing who or what is in it. I recently saw a guy a year or sixteen, walking on the street in a t-shirt of Chewbacca, from Star Wars. “Cool,” I said, ” a t-shirt of Chewbacca.’ Which that boy is to me very strange looked at. “You know who Chewbacca is?”, I asked. “No,” he replied, ” I just thought that a beautiful dog.’ What the fok? I think then.
I find jazz the largest kutgenre that there exists, and have in Fleddy Melculy finally found a soul mate who that the people can make it clear.
What the fok?, as is also the ep of Fleddy Melculy on February 16, appears.
CAMERLYNCK: Correct. There will be even more socially critical songs on it, all figured out in six months that Fleddy pulled in a Norwegian forest. Where Fleddy like about singing? About his keys to lose, and consequently are not get, and about his passionate hatred towards jazz. Yes, I like jazz the largest kutgenre that there exists, and have in Fleddy Melculy finally found a soul mate who that the people can make it clear. (laughs)
