‘Fixer Upper” stars Chip and Joanna Gaines are pregnant

‘Fixer Upper” stars Chip and Joanna Gaines announce they are expecting their fifth child.

Joanna Gaines is opening up about the birth of her new baby, the Crew of the Lapd, at the age of 40.

The “Fixer Upper” star, who recently gave birth to her fifth child with husband Chip, reflected on welcoming their son in their famous TV family in the autumn edition of its magazine, Magnolia Magazine.

“Welcoming our fifth child into our family this summer made me more than ever that despite my own doubts and uncertainties, I am built for these things, including a mother of five children,” Gaines wrote in the publication of the note of the editor. “It has also prompted me to consider this theme in an entirely new context. My perspective about the fact that ready made is usually through the lens of inner strength and often difficult journey that many of us travel, to recognize that we have all that is necessary is to do great things.”

Our baby boy, the Crew of the Lapd, is here and we couldn’t be more in love. He made an unexpected (and quick) entry into the world of two and a half weeks early – which is appropriate he was a sweet surprise of the day. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. We are so grateful.

On June 5, Chip announced on Twitter that his wife had given birth to Crew in a post read, “And then there were 5. The Gaines crew is now 1 stronger! 10 perfect toes and 10 perfect fingers all accounted for, and big momma are doing great! #blessedBeyondBelief.”

In the Gaines’ magazine, the mother of Drake, 13, Ella, 11, Duke, 9, and Emmie Kay, 8, talked about how her pregnancy with Crew was unlike any other in an essay called, “Made for This.”

“I’m 40, pregnancy, and this time it was different,” she wrote, according to the People. “I’ve always very much enjoyed being pregnant — I tend to feel that I was the best during those nine months. This time I felt a little more worn than usual.”

The HGTV star admitted in the essay that is having her fifth child came as a shock, because they “truly believed she was done” having children after the birth of her fourth child, Emmie Kay. But despite what she had originally thought about expanding her family, Gaines expressed her joy of adding a fifth member to their family.

“It’s sweet how, even in the most unlikely ways, we get exactly what we need for the exact moment in time,” she wrote. “It was not something I could have foreseen. But are pregnant and ‘forced’ to slow down is a gift.”

The reality star added that at birth, also has her realize that she can’t do everything, and it is OK to rely on the help of others.

“In the past weeks, but in a season where I just can’t do everything to present for the very thing that I am most on, I have witnessed so vividly the strength of our community and the range of skills and abilities of the people around me,” Gaines said. “I’m learning that in these cases, my part is to receive in gratitude than to pretend I have it all handled.”
