Fitbit unveils smartwatch Ionic

Fitbit has its long-awaited smartwatch unveiled, the Fitbit Ionic. In addition, the manufacturer of wearables also own wireless earbuds.

The Fitbit Ionic has a square display that also functions as a touchscreen. On the right side of the watch sitting also two buttons, the left side has one physical button.

The Ionic has, in contrast to previous smartwatch-like wearables from Fitbit are also a private healthcare app store. The smart watch comes standard with a Starbucks app. Other developers can create their own apps for the device.

Music playback

The Ionic can also learn to play music. The wearable has 2.5 GB of space for music. Can also offline to playlists of muziekstreamingdienst Pandora are listened to. That service is in the Netherlands, however, is not available. The smartwatch also supports contactless payments via nfc.

In addition, the Ionic different sensors including a heart rate monitor, gps, light sensor and an accelerometer. Just like previous Fitbit devices can also be notifications from the paired phone on the Ionic reading.

The battery of the smartwatch must be more than four days life on one battery charge. When using the built-in gps is the battery life up to ten hours.

Earbuds

In addition to a smartwatch, unveiled Fitbit also own wireless earbuds, the Flyer, via bluetooth pairing with a phone or, for example, the Ionic-smartwatch. Fitbit promises six hours of playback time for music.

The earbuds have no built-in stemassistent, such as Apples Airpods, but may be used to make calls through two built-in microphones. The Flyer costs 129,95 euro.
