Kim Gordon, co-founder of Sonic Youth, launches its first solosingle: ‘Murdered Out’. Punishment stuff.
35 years, Kim Gordon, one half of the legendary joins indie band Sonic Youth, in the music scene, but never brought them a song from under her own name. That is when this adjusted.
‘Murdered Out’, Gordon’s first solo single in which they are guitars and vocals let cry as of old, is an ode to the matt black paint which Gordon remarked in the streets: the look of the cars – on her return to Los Angeles.
What she has with this matter? ‘Black-on-black matte is the ultimate expression in digging out, getting rid of, purging the soul. Like a black hole, the supreme inward look, a culture collapsing in on itself, the outsider as an unwilling participant as the ‘It’ look, ” says the musician.
Gordon, now 63 years old, seems to look forward to more collaborations with Justin Raise the number produced. So, there is more of the former Sonic Youth bassist to arrive. Good news. (DB)
