Photos of Joaquin Phoenix in full make-up for the upcoming movie “Joker” is revealed.
Todd Phillips, the director of the upcoming Joker origin film, placed on a camera test of Joaquin Phoenix Friday on Instagram. Phoenix plays the notorious villain in the currently untitled film, which is scheduled to hit theaters on Oct. 4, 2019.
In the video, Phoenix appears as “Arthur”, until his face is interspersed with images of him as the Joker. The camera gradually pulls closer and we see him as the grinning villain, with his signature white face and red lips. The video is set to “Laughing” by the Canadian band The Guess Who, ends when his gaze suddenly falls.
Phillips posted a photo on Sunday of Phoenix dressed in a button-up shirt and jacket, with the caption: “Arthur.” This is probably the Joker’s name before he takes his current name.

Phillips, who co-wrote the script by Scott Silver, said the film is meant to be an “exploration of a man ignored by society, that is not only a gritty nature of the study, but also a broader cautionary tale.”
Robert De Niro is in talks to join the film as a talk-show host that plays a role in the control of the Phoenix sign of madness. The script has ties with De Niro’s “King of Comedy”, which features the actor as a failed comedian who kidnaps a popular talk show host on the fame. For the Joker film, the roles would obviously be reversed, with De Niro plays the smug host. Zazie Beetz and Marc Maron also star in the pic.
Warner Bros. has said that the Phoenix function will have no effect on the DC Universe, which saw Jared Leto will play the Joker in “Suicide Squad.” The studio is also developing its own stand-alone Joker movie that will star Leto.
