For the First time the group is asked Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, to the blocking of Twitter users, who had different political points of view from her.

The knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University, called the practice “unconstitutional” and demanded to stop the freshman members of Congress, apart from those with opposing points of view, an objection similar to the one that President Trump.

The group, called the Congressman’s personal @AOC account to a “public forum”.

“You can use the account as an extension of your office to share and explain information about the hearings in Congress, to approve of the policy proposals, legislation, and to solicit public comment on questions to the government,” the letter it. “The @AOC account is important to you, as legislators, to understand their voters, and others who try and influence their legislative decisions and priorities.”

Starting on Thursday, Ocasio-Cortez, 5.3 million followers on Twitter, while the official conference account @RepAOC boasted 188,000 followers. The group asked the Congressman had the right to block users after a threatening speech.

In response, Ocasio-Cortez tweeted that less than 20 accounts have been blocked for the ongoing harassment and no were in your constituency.

“Harassment is not a point of view. Some accounts, such as the Daily Caller, posted fake naked photos of me & abused to spread my comments. No one is entitled to abuse,” she posted.

Ocasio-Cortez does not respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

TRUMP ADMINISTRATION SEEKS COURT REHEARING ON TWITTER TO BLOCK JUDGMENT

Former New York Congressman Dov Hikind, a Democrat, sued Ocasio-Cortez in July to block it on your personal Twitter account.

“Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has blocked me on Twitter yesterday ,apparently, to sting because of my criticism of your tweets and the policy,” Hikind said in a statement announcing the lawsuit.

New York GOP Congress hopeful Joseph Saladino also sued Ocasio-Cortez, after he was blocked.
