Fire targeting property of the police, the firefighters in Arkansas

COTTON PLANT, Ark. – Authorities in a small Arkansas town says the local police and the fire brigade are being attacked by suspicious fire and vandalism.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports of the incidents in the Cotton Factory began in February, when a fire a firefighter’s house. The latest fire took place on Sunday and damaged the house of the Chief Jason Johnston ‘ s mother.

Mayor Willard Ryland says someone gasoline used to start a fire this month in the cotton plant Police Department. He says that the fire destroyed a computer and a box of police reports. Other firefighters say that their personal vehicles and a need of also have been destroyed.

The local police have asked Arkansas State Police to take over the investigation.

Cotton Plant, a town of about 650 inhabitants, is located about 70 miles northeast of Little Rock.
