The Finnish Ombudsman for data protection has launched an investigation into a possible datalek by phone manufacturer Nokia. Reports that a major newspaper in Finland, Helsingin Sanomat.
The going to be the model Nokia 7 Plus, that personal data would have sent to the server of a Chinese telecom provider that is owned by the state.
By the datalek would be personal data if the serial number of the phone, the phone number, location information, and simkaartgegevens are forwarded. The ombudsman will now examine whether there was indeed a datalek.
Nokia and the parent company HMD Global have not yet responded.
The Nokia 7 Plus was released in February 2018 on the market.
