Fifty people injured in riots on temple mount to tighter controls
During nightly skirmishes with the police at the temple mount in Jerusalem some fifty Palestinians were injured. Fifteen of them were hit by rubberkogels, said the Red Cross Tuesday.
Background of the turmoil intensified security checks for muslim worshippers on the temple mount. Israel had the checks Sunday after a bloody attack on one of the inputs of the temple mount.
There were Friday, three Israeli Arabs, two Israeli police officers killed. The perpetrators were also shot.
The temple mount with the wailing wall and the al-Aqsa mosque is a holy place for jews and muslims. The battle for bezoekersrechten, about whom the hill to pray, has in the past arranged to tension and violence resulted.
