Feyenoord has Stanley Brard Thursday appointed as head of youth. The former player of the club fulfilled that function, but rather the city’s inhabitants, and is the successor of Richard Grootscholten.
The sixty-year old Brard, who between 1977 and 1986 for Feyenoord played was from 2005, for eight years head of youth in The Cockpit. He left the vijftienvoudig champion for an adventure in Azerbaijan. Later, he was working in Japan.
Technical director Martin van Geel worked together with Brard in his last two years of his first period at Feyenoord. “Stan let all see very well able to vision a course and a great team to forge of trainers with different backgrounds and a group of specialists,” says Van Geel, the site of Feyenoord.
“Many of these professionals can see he will be back to Varkenoord. He has also since then a lot of additional experience and knowledge gained, so I have great confidence in and look forward to another successful collaboration.”
Brard has a good reputation at Feyenoord, because in its first period was the youth four times in a row voted best of the Netherlands. Players like Tonny Vilhena, Jordy van la parra, Georginio Wijnaldum, Stefan de Vrij and Bruno Martins Indi vomiting in that period of time.
Grootscholten left last month
Last month, Feyenoord after a collaboration of more than two years leave of Grootscholten. Officially, the two parties on 1 march from each other, but Grootscholten until that time exempt from work.
His successor Brard has a meaning in its new time period at Feyenoord. “I have an awful lot of meaning in order to get back to work to go to the Academy. Because I there are still many people know and Feyenoord and certainly the youth if you continue to follow, I know that I come to work with an excellent combination of experienced coaches, ex-players and subject-matter specialists,” he says.
“With them, and with my knowledge and experience, we do everything to make the coming years even more players ready for Feyenoord 1.”
The team is halfway through the season, the number three of the Premier league. The team of trainer Giovanni van Bronckhorst travel in the winter break to Marbella and resume the competition on 19 January with a uitduel with PEC Zwolle.
