Festival Roffa Mon Amour continues to expand
The Rotterdam festival Roffa Mon Amour will expand. The fifth edition, from 19 to 30 July, lasts for twelve days instead of five, as in the past.
The event will take place on the particular historical location Station Hofplein in Rotterdam, did the organization Saturday known.
The festival is held on the roof of the old train station, with views over the skyline of Rotterdam. Roffa Mon Amour offers a night place to four hundred visitors and exhibits for twelve days and twelve films. The program consists of very many movies about important contemporary themes, drawn from all parts of the world.
In addition to the work of emerging directors program of the festival two filmclassics under the heading of Throwback Thursday, a new programme where early work by well known makers will be screened. Also new is the children’s program in cooperation with the Amsterdam festival Cinekid.
RMA opens the festival on Wednesday, July 19, with the Dutch premiere of Dayveon, the first long feature film of the talented director and composer, Amman Abbasi. The intriguing film shows how it is to grow up in a gang and to (over)life in the forgotten American town of Wrightsville.
