FC Twente rent Gjorgjev for two seasons of Grasshopper
FC Twente has set Sunday reinforced with Nikola Gjorgjev. The Tukkers to rent the 19-year-old attacker the next two seasons of Grasshopper Club.
FC Twente also has an option to purchase stipulated on Gjorgjev, five international matches for Macedonia after his name.
Nikola Gjorgjev went through the youth program of Grasshopper and made at the age of 17 his debut in the main body of the Swiss club. He played in the past year forty official matches for Grasshopper and scored four times.
Gjorgjev can not believe his luck with his transfer. “This transition to FC Twente for me, is a wonderful new step. I am a young player, at the Grasshopper started and now I get the chance to play in a bigger league to play. I feel that I am ready for it.”
Also technical director Jan van Halst is delighted with the arrival of Gjorgjev. “Nikola is a young, talented winger that our offense more opportunities. He was last month active in the european CHAMPIONSHIP under 21 and once again is a player that FC Twente has chosen for his talent to develop further. Here we go hard together to work.”
Gjorgjev is the seventh acquisition of FC Twente this summer. Previously drew the number seven over the past year in the Eredivisie Tom Boere, Haris Vuckic, Danny Holla, Jorn Brondeel, Jeffrey de Long and Alexander Laukart.
