FC Dordrecht sets Portuguese Braga to as a trainer

Claudio Braga on January 1, the new coach of FC Dordrecht, so from the club’s Kitchen Champion Division on Friday known. The Portuguese signed a contract for 1,5 season.

The 44-year-old Braga follows Gérard de Nooijer, who in november was dismissed because of disappointing results. Since then took assistant coach Scott Calderwood, the duties of the Nooijer. He returns to his role as an assistant.

“Claudio is in our eyes the most suitable candidate proved to be,” says technical manager Peter Drijver of FC Dordrecht. “He has as a coach a broad experience with various clubs. Even more important than professional qualities are Claudio’s personal characteristics. He is positive, calm, open, and collegial.”

Braga lives since his youth in the Netherlands and was last season as interim coach of Fortuna Sittard, which he promoted to the Premier league. He was also youth coach at Excelsior, Sparta, Feyenoord, PSV and FC Utrecht. In addition, he was assistant coach at Vitoria Setúbal and head coach at CS Maritimo in the highest Portuguese division.

FC Dordrecht is eighteenth in the Kitchen Champion Division with eleven points from eighteen matches. The club won this season’s only two duels.
