Fatter but still have a part to go on course for world cup medal at zevenkamp
Anouk Vetter is a Sunday after six of the seven sections on course for a world CHAMPIONSHIP medal in the combined events. Thanks to an excellent performance in the javelin, the Netherlands on the second place in the standings.
Vetter threw 58,41 metres in the Olympic Stadium in London and came close to the Dutch record. She won also the part and rose three places to second place with 5805 points. The Belgian topfavoriete Nafissatou Thiam is in the lead with 5980 points.
Sunday night is the son concluded with the 800 meters and then have to Vetter, who last year surprisingly European champion, her podium to hold on to it.
If Vetter succeeds in her mission then she is the second Dutch ever with a world cup medal in the pentathlon and decathlon. At the world CHAMPIONSHIPS 2013 in Moscow vervoverde Dafne Schippers, who a year later made the switch to sprint, bronze.

The other two Dutch contenders have no chance at a medal. Nadine Visser is seventh in the standings and Nadine Broersen ceased after the long jump, the fifth part was, due to a hamstring injury in the fight.
Broersen, a former world champion indoors in the pentathlon, was currently on the twelfth place. The 24-year-old Vetter came in the long jump, to 6,32 metres. Nadine Visser reached 6,30.
Lisanne de Witte ran aground Sunday in the series of the 400 metres. The 24-year-old Heiloose ended in her series as the fifth, while a place in the first three was required for direct placement in the semifinals. Her time of 52,48 it appeared afterwards, neither good enough to be one of the six tijdsnelsten to go.
The White dripped disappointed. She was this summer in good shape and sharpness of her personal record to 51,71. They will be available later this WK once again in action on the 4×400 meter relay.
“I think this is my worst event of the season and I don’t see how that can be”, regretted The White for the camera of NUsport. “I felt good, but still it went wrong.”

The Kenyan runner Geoffrey Kirui won the world title in the marathon. He arrived after 2 hours and 8 minutes and 27 seconds as the first to the finish line at Tower Bridge in London. The Ethiopian Tamira Tola came on a large backlog as a second within in 2.09,49. Alphonce Simbu from Tanzania took the bronze in 2.09,51.
Kirui is already the fifth world champion from Kenya at the classic distance of 42,195 km. He duelleerde long with Tola, which had the best legs seemed to have. But after the Ethiopian, who at the Olympic Games of Rio de Janeiro bronze won in the 10,000 metres, two tins & drink cans was missing in the houses, flowed his powers away.
Kirui began after 35 kilometres to an impressive solo. With almost a minute and a half ahead of he came cheering across the finish line. He belonged in advance to the contenders, because he, this spring, the Boston marathon had won.
