LOS ANGELES – Fans seeking to pay homage to Carrie Fisher have made a makeshift star for the actress of Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
Fisher fans took an empty star on Hollywood Boulevard and used to paste on the letters spell out her name and the words “May the force be with you always.” Candles and flowers around the star.
Fisher did not have an official star on the Walk of Fame, but administrators of the Los Angeles tourist attraction, making the tribute temporarily to give fans a place to grieve.
Walk of Fame stars are awarded by a committee under the leadership of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Celebrities have to apply to be considered and willing to pay the $30,000 cost.

There is also a run on Fisher’s books since the “Star Wars” actress and humorist, died on Tuesday.

Fisher, the daughter of actress Debbie Reynolds and singer Eddie Fisher, was included in the hospital since Friday, when paramedics responded to a report of a patient in an emergency on the airport of Los Angeles.
Her most recent book, “The Princess Diarist,” was at the top of Amazon’s list of best-selling books on Wednesday. “Wishful Drinking” and “Postcards From the Edge” were also in the Amazon top 10, with “Shockaholic” is ranked as Number 57.
Five of the top 10 books on Amazon’s “Movers and Shakers” list, which measures titles that the largest upward movement in the revenue over a period of 24 hours, were by Fisher. That list also included Courtney Carbone’s book, “I Am a Princess,” on the Fisher’s Princess Leia character, at Number 11.

HBO, which broadcast a documentary called “the Bright Lights: With Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher” next year, a New Year is the Day of the show from the Fisher’s one-woman stand-up special “Wishful Drinking.”
The network called Fisher “a great friend and a rare talent who provide us with so many memories with her great sense of humor and the unique and honest outlook on life.”

Viewers also hear Fisher’s voice again in two new episodes of Fox’s animated comedy “Family Guy.”
She reprised her role as Angela, the brewery boss, Peter Griffin (Seth MacFarlane). Air dates have yet to be set for the episodes, Fox said Wednesday.
Meanwhile, comedian Steve Martin found itself the subject of debate online about the tweet that he wrote, then deleted, which said: “When I was a young man, Carrie Fisher … it was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen. She appeared to be witty and bright.”
Martin received some online criticism for, in the first instance to focus on her looks instead of her work, which in turn drew clearance for a sensitive reading of his book.
