Famous NJ mobster sentenced for role in drug trafficking ring

A reputed New Jersey mobster, was transferred to a 10-year prison sentence on Wednesday for the drug charges.

Carl Chianese, 80, had been on probation for a similar crime when he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute a controlled dangerous substance.

The Point Pleasant resident has been arrested in 2018, along with two other men, for possession of drugs with intent to distribute, methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl, tramadol, and marijuana.

The case against him was largely built as it is on the record, and the information of an informant and an undercover FBI agent, and the Asbury Park Press reported.

The researchers said Chianese, had ties to the La Costa Nostra crime families in Philidelphia, Boston, New Jersey, usa.
