Family: NYPD home raided by mistake, posted Snapchat photos

NEW YORK – Members of New York City and family say that the police to their apartment by mistake and posted a picture on social media with the text “Merry Christmas The NYPD.”

WABC-TV reports (http://7ny.tv/2hA5QWj ) that the police warrant team came on a Brooklyn apartment Thursday morning and put the handcuffs on everyone there.

Apartment resident Kimberly Santiago says officers were looking for someone who does not live there and who she doesn’t know. She says that the officers left after three hours.

But she says that the officers posted two pictures of the failed raid on Snapchat. The second picture is entitled, warrant sweeps.”

A spokeswoman for the police says that the department’s internal affairs bureau investigates the incident.
