Facebook announced steps to clamp down on the misinformation, ahead of the 2020 election

(Reuters) – Facebook has announced measures to combat the false information and voter suppression ahead of the November 2020 U.S. presidential election, published on the same day, at the disposal of the network of russia’s accounts, targeted U.S. voters are on Instagram.

Facebook said on Monday it would increase transparency, by measures such as the display of the information on the attached owner of a Facebook page, and a greater emphasis on the labeling of the content, which is an independent fact-checkers have flagged it as a false.

The social media giant has come under fire in recent weeks over the policy and the exemption from the advertising by politicians to make sure of the facts, drawing the ire of the Democratic presidential candidates, Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren.

“We are faced with increasingly sophisticated attacks from nation-states like Russia, Iran and China, but I am confident that we will be better prepared.”

The theories that China has intervened in the US elections have been absurd, and, laughing, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying at a regular press conference in Beijing on Tuesday.

Moscow and Tehran have repeatedly denied the accusations against him.

Facebook has introduced a new U.S. presidential candidate spending tracker to show how much they’ve spent on political ads, as a part of the company’s efforts to make the ad, the library was easier to use it, Zuckerberg said.

Facebook has launched an on-line library of political advertising in 2018, but the database has been criticised by researchers and are poorly maintained and do not provide a useful ad targeting information.

The company also has plans to take over the promotion and the protection of your Facebook and Instagram accounts by candidates, elected officials, and their teams, through a program called Facebook to help Protect. The participants of the programme will be required to turn on two-factor authentication for their accounts to be monitored for any signs of tampering.
