NEW YORK (Reuters) – Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN.D) will only give you the much-needed supplies in the united states and the united kingdom warehouse, to the 5th of April, in the latest move to free inventory space, medical, and household items are in high demand, as a result of the corona virus outbreak.
The change does not mean that Amazon will stop selling non-essential items such as books, toys, and for now, the only products which may be more likely to run out of the store in the next few weeks, or the sellers in order to ship the products directly to the consumers.
In a memo sent to vendors Tuesday, Amazon said that it is seeing a rise in the use of the online shopping consumer demand. As for the household staples, and medical supplies run out of stock, it will have to give priority to certain categories in order to be “received, fill out, and send these products to our customers.”
In the Amazon, five categories have been defined as the vital products that are able to continue shipping, including those of the baby products, healthcare, household goods, beauty & personal care; grocery store; industrial & scientific; and pet supplies.
“We have to understand this is to be a change in the sales of our partners and we appreciate their understanding as we are, temporarily, the priority of these products for customers,” Amazon said in a statement.
The company said that the new protocol is applicable to both first-party vendors and third parties to the seller. That is, it suggests that the company is not protecting their own products.
The move follows Amazon’s announcement of the hiring of 100,000 workers in its warehouses, and, on Monday, when the Seattle-based giant is trying to meet the growing on-line shopping the need of the people who have to stay at home in the middle of the corona virus outbreak.
Third-party sellers, account for more than half of the sales on Amazon as well. Amazon has been steady sellers, with his own fulfilment system which has allowed so many of them, and with a fast delivery without the risk of sitting on inventory.
It is especially popular for vendors who make use of a drop shipping method, which means that the sellers are importing products from manufacturers in countries such as China and immediately send it to an Amazon warehouse. Amazon earns fees from the management of the storage and delivery process.
Vendors to deliver products, which are considered to be non-essential their products are out of stock and they can’t be turned off, as a result of the operation. Still, they can make use of the different performance of the methods for the direct marketing of products to the customers.
As a consultant, said the announcement brought in as a third-party sellers are struggling to cope with the economic crisis, in the midst of the battle. The employees at the bars, clubs, theaters, and other non-essential businesses have been furloughed in order to help prevent the spread of the deadly virus, President Donald Trump on Monday said the U.S. economy may be sliding into a recession.

“Vendors have to rethink their whole strategies, the sales will be in 2020, not only in Q1, and on the first Day,” said Chris McCabe, the founder of Amazon seller consulting ecommerceChris.com.
A Prime Day is scheduled to take place in July of each year, Amazon’s annual, marketing week and when merchants offer you exclusive deals and discounts which will contribute to more sales than Black Friday. The sellers are usually in-stock in-stock ahead of the shopping holiday, as this decision adds to the uncertainty as to when they will be able to ship the products in.
“The posting of this notice, has had a great influence on the Prime to Day,” McCabe said.
