Ronan Farrow’s accusation: Trump had affair with Playboy model
A look at what you are in Ronan Farrow’s bombshell report about an alleged affair between Donald Trump & Playboy model Karen McDougal
EXCLUSIVE: at the heart of The New York story Karen McDougal, who says she had an affair with Donald Trump, is you hand-written notes kept by a former Playboy playmate.
These notes, by journalist Ronan Farrow, as their personal reflections about the relationship –”later immortalized in an eight-page, hand-written document provided to the New Yorker.”
The reader could easily get the impression that many journalists have, that McDougal wrote these notes during what she describes as a consensual relationship that began in 2006. But that is not the case.
A telltale mark on the entries, reproduced by the magazine shows that McDougal wrote these pages, either during or since the 2016 campaign,—having regard to memories at least a decade old.
The New Yorker does not deny that the McDougal’s notes were written, many years after the alleged relationship. Instead, the magazine tries to bind you, McDougal of a possible deal with the National Enquirer’s parent company American Media Inc.
“The article is not available Karen McDougal written account as made at the same time with the events themselves,” a New York-based spokesman, told me. “Rather, the article makes it clear that to sell the idea of your story to American Media, Inc. the first occurred in the year 2016. Your written report is supported referenced by additional procurement and documentation in the article.”

If, it was suggested, by the story of how the magazine claimed, the intent was more subtle.
The recent creation of the notes does not imply that McDougal is not to tell the truth. The magazine is of the view that the timing has no significant effect on their credibility.
But the timing of the notes is very insightful about how McDougal came to the public to go, as well as the role of the National Enquirer.
The McDougal-passages were written on a notebook computer marketed by fashion designer Izak Zenou, whose name appears at the bottom of one of the sides. He got into the business of creating office demand in 2016, and the notebook was not available for sale on Amazon until March 2016.
The timing is of importance.
Farrow writes that “the interaction, McDougal outlines in the document-sharing startling similarities with the stories of other women who claim to have had sexual relations with a trump, or him to bother, he accused them for sex or sexually.”
But in the letter of the notes in 2016 or 2017, the do not suspect a former Playmate of the year, from a decade ago, similar accusations from other women.
The notes say things like: “I was in his intelligence + charm. Such a polite man. We talked for a few hours, then it was”! We have naked + had sex.”
According to the New York history, was published last week, said a White house spokeswoman: “This is an old story that is just fake news. The President says he never had a relationship with McDougal.”
Ronan Farrow claims that the former playboy Playmate of the year, expressed Karen McDougal “surprise,” he had her hand-written notes, but they have been confirmed.
The New Yorker expands on what the Wall Street Journal had reported days before the Trump choice: that the applicant had paid to the parent company, McDougal of $ 150,000 for the limited life of the rights to your story about a romantic or physical relationship with a married man, and never published. The practice, in the tabloid world, is known as “catch and kill”—purchase is a story for the purpose of burial.
American Media CEO David Pecker, has acknowledged his friendship with trump. The New York quoted the former two former AMI-executives on the record as saying that the purchase and the killing of the stories was a common practice under the hoe.
Discuss McDougal and her attorney met with Dylan Howard, American Media’s chief content officer, a deal. McDougal told AMI, you had offered more than $1 million for her story, and also that she in an interview with ABC News.
The Enquirer claims that it does not publish McDougal’s claims about trump in 2016 because it could not confirm, and that you will be offered corroborating documentation, texts, documents, or witnesses. It was also said, search the storage for old phones, or other evidence.
The supermarket tabloid also says that you can not offer hand-written notes, which suggests that you would not have posted in time.
During the discussions, appeared to be McDougal, to change your view on “going public” with the alleged affair, saying, “I don’t want to be seen as the next Monica Lewinsky.”
This makes the timing of the Enquirer – a US $150,000 deal with McDougal, in August 2016, all the more suspect, especially given the paper’s pro-Trump coverage under the hoe. The contract, in addition to the limited-life rights, called for her to appear on two AMI magazine covers and write a fitness column, but some of these objectives have not been met.
So the company paid her a lot of money, even after the completion you could not justify it, the affair, while you make sure that you could not tell that story elsewhere.
McDougal of the contract with the American media, a non-disclosure agreement, and may explain why the important role of the hand-written notes.
The ex-Playmate spoke at the plate to Farrow, but the piece says, they fell to about the details of their relationship with Trump “out of fear of the violation of the agreement.”
The obstacle, intentionally or not, neatly circumvented by the hand-written notes.
Farrow writes that he was surprised the document of John Crawford, a friend of McDougal, and “pressed it,” he had confirmed, however, that the notes were in her handwriting.
Later in the piece, it was obvious that they are more than just friends.
Crawford said Farrow ” that the sale of McDougal history was his idea, and he raised her till she was to live with him, in the year 2016.” As they watched the presidential candidates on television, Crawford said, he told McDougal that your past relationship with trombone “might be worth something on you now.”
In an interview with CNN, Farrow called McDougal’s notes “written testimony” and said, they exist to sell because “in the course of the sale of the story, a friend of her convinced her it was to sit down and write every detail.”
(Two months after McDougal signed the contract with the American media, trump the personal lawyer Michael Cohen paid $130,000 to Stormy Daniels, a former porn star claimed in an interview, years before, she had an affair with trump in 2006. Since this transaction was accompanied by a non-disclosure agreement, the payment was widely regarded as the hush money. Cohen recently told the New York Times that he and Daniels paid out of his pocket, and not reimbursed to Trump or his campaign.)
American media, the New Yorker said in a letter last week that a post-election change of McDougal contract allows it, responding to legitimate press inquiries about trump.
An AMI executive, now New Yorker editor David Remnick for the correction, says asked, he had a duty to tell the readers, the McDougal’s notes were written at least 10 years after the alleged affair. The Board said the omission was deliberately misleading.
Remnick, a widely recognized journalist and Pulitzer prize-winning author, was also an ardent critic of the trump, that the magazine stands by its story. He said that the story made it clear that the long period of time between the alleged affair and the effort to sell the story. Remnick also said the New York passed Crawford has the role and contain the AMI’s reply.
Farrow has gained enormous journalistic credibility, for his meticulous New York power of the sexual misconduct allegations against Harvey Weinstein, of the by numerous Actresses and movie mogul attempts to intimidate the press. His in-depth coverage of McDougal and Trump fits the pattern.
Still, some journalists reached the understandable conclusion that McDougal notes were composed in the year 2006. Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen wrote this week that McDougal “hand-wrote a contemporaneous report about their alleged affair.”
Time, in a common formulation, said that “a former Playboy model kept hand written notes about an alleged nine-month affair with President Donald Trump, started in the year 2006.”
The week said that “McDougal’s friend, John Crawford, supplied Farrow with McDougal’ s hand-written notes from the time, the Details of the affair.”
The reality is that for at least a decade will pass had to, to Karen McDougal, wrote these notes that you to your friend and roommate urged her to peddle her story for money.
