Petr Cech makes a remarkable career switch. The Czech ex-champions league is going to start as a goalkeeper in the English ice hockey club Guildford Phoenix.
The 37-year-old Cech, who, last summer, his football career ended, could be Sunday though, his debut for the team, which leads on to the fourth level in the uk. Guildford Phoenix, then against the Swindon Wildcats.
“I’m very, very glad that I have the opportunity to play for the Phoenix in order to match up to do it,” says Cech is on the website of his new club. “I hope that this is a young team, it can help in order to achieve their goals and, as much as possible to win a match when I get a chance to play.”
The ex-goalkeeper of Chelsea and Arsenal, played in his youth, even though ice-hockey in his home country. Also, he had for years been in the NHL. “After twenty years of running of professional football, this will be a great experience for me. In order for the sport to practice, I like to be watched and played with as a child.”
