European Commission warns social media for measures nepnieuws

The European Commission threatens to take measures, as social media such as Facebook to do anything against nepnieuws.

That says european commissioner Andrus Ansip (Digital single market) at the Financial Times.

“I’m like a lot of other people care about nepnieuws, especially after the elections in the United States,” said Ansip.

According to the critics, had nepnieuwsberichten on Facebook may affect the U.s. elections. These articles were, for example, presidential candidates advocates against.

Ansip: “I think the internet itself should regulate. But certain things clearly need to be made, we will prepare for that.”
