Europe should, according to Merkel to count on their own strength
The German chancellor Angela Merkel after the G7 summit in Sicily, by the transverse action of Donald Trump, hardly anything has been produced, asked Europe to reflect on its own strength.
“We Europeans have our fate really is in our own hands,” Merkel said Sunday during a election meeting in Munich.
“The times that we are fully others could count his really over. I have the last few days have experienced,” said Merkel, without Trump by name.
The American president las the NATO allies of the lesson, refused the global climate deal to support it, continued to think differently about the refugee policy and agreed only reluctantly in with a mini-compromise on protectionism in trade.
“We must, as Europeans, to realise that we ourselves must fight for our future. Of course, in friendship with the United States, with Britain and as good neighbours, where possible, with other countries, even Russia,” said Merkel.
