Europe needs to build the world’s best batteries to save jobs: German minister

BERLIN (Reuters) – German Economy Minister Peter Altmaier said Europe was under pressure in the race for the set-up of the production of batteries for electric cars in order to keep up with China or the US, Tagesspiegel newspaper on Friday.

“We can only prevent the massive loss of jobs as we build the world’s best batteries in Europe,” Altmaier was quoted as saying.
