BRUSSELS (Reuters) – The European union agency for fundamental rights said on Monday that the preliminary results of its investigation into Microsoft’s (MSFT.(O) contracts with the institutions of the european union, show the serious problems in the enforcement of the rules on data protection.
“But the investigation is still ongoing, preliminary results indicate serious concerns with regard to compliance with the relevant contractual provisions relating to data protection and the role of Microsoft as a processor for the institutions of the EU, with the help of our products and services, to the european data protection supervisor, said in a statement.
The european union agency for fundamental rights had launched an investigation in April 2019 at the latest, in the use of Microsoft’s products and services to be provided by the institutions of the EU.
