EU reimburses almost the whole of the damage suffered natural disasters
The European Union shall be significantly more money available to regions hit by a natural disaster. Regions may soon be up to 95 percent reimbursement. Now is that 50 per cent.
It comes to the cost of repairing damages caused by earthquakes, floods and other natural disasters.
These are the 28 member states on Wednesday with the European Parliament, agreed. Until 2020 can take into account up to 9.8 billion euros, it is expected.
The money comes from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). In addition, there are 500 million available from the eu solidarity fund from which the EU annually affected member states to help shoot.
The total size of the ERDF from 196,4 billion euros remains unchanged.
