STOCKHOLM (Reuters) – Ericsson says that the current 5G network security discussions to ensure to its customers, but the mobile network equipment maker has not yet seen an increase in contracts as a result of which, the highest chief said on Wednesday.
The company employs a Chinese market leader Huawei and finland’s Nokia as his main rivals and some analysts think it could take advantage of the Western suspicions of Huawei, after Washington alleged her gear can be used by Beijing for spying.
Huawei has strongly rejected the allegations and launched a lawsuit against the U.S. government.
“What we see is that the customers are concerned,” Chief Executive Borje Ekholm told reporters ahead of the company’s annual general meeting at a location close to the north-Stockholm headquarters.
“And that, of course, leads to more discussions with customers for us, but we can’t see that the contracts are assigned. That hasn’t happened yet.”
