Environmental Protection Agency chief Scott Pruitt is in front of questions about his housing arrangement, after a lobbyist allegedly rented a residence partly in the possession of the wife energy.

While the ethics rules usually prohibit employees in the Executive branch of the gifts, the EPA denied that it was, in fact, an example of a gift.

“As the EPA career ethics officials stated in a memo, Administrator Pruitt case was the arrangement for yourself and the family a gift, and the lease was said to be in line with Federal ethics guidelines, an EPA spokesman, to Fox News.

Hart told The AP that Pruitt is a casual friend, and they had no contact with himt for months, except for a brief exchange at the National prayer Breakfast last month.

“Pruitt below-market, short-term lease for a condominium owned, in part, by my wife,” said Hart, according to a statement. “Pruitt paid the rent owed as agreed to in the lease. My wife is not and has not ever lobbied the EPA on all matters.”

Pruitt has been a strong supporter of the rollback of a number of EPA regulations and cut has some rules opposed by industry, angering environmental groups.

The controversy is the latest hit Pruitt, the under control of its travel practices. The house Oversight Committee is investigating, The Wall Street Journal reports that his international trips, and a number of Charter and military means flights, his trip have exceeded a cost of $150,000.

Pruitt said, he needed to prove first-class seats due to security concerns.
