Hollywood Nation: Ellen DeGeneres says that she is considering retirement from her daytime talk show to the realisation of various projects in the coming years.
Ellen DeGeneres comes forward about her experience with sexual abuse in the hope that they can help other assault victims as they tell their stories.
The daytime talk show star reportedly revealed on Season 2 of Netflix’s “My Next Guest needs No Introduction with David Letterman” that she was abused by her mother a new husband when she was a teenager, and hid it for years.

According to Entertainment Tonight, “The Ellen Show” host said the man told her that he needed to feel her breasts because her mother recently had a breast removed after a cancer diagnosis, and he needed to have her body for lumps.
“He told me that when she was out of the city he had felt a lump in her breast and needed to feel my breasts because he wanted to not be angry at her, but he had to feel mine,” DeGeneres, 61, said.
DeGeneres said that because they “don’t know about bodies” or “her breasts are all different,” her mom’s husband “convinced me that he needs to feel my breasts and then he tries to do it again another time, and then one more time.”

The comic said the man tried to break into her room, kicked her window, “and he went because I knew that it would go more for something… and I didn’t want to tell my mother, because I was protecting her and I knew that that would ruin her happiness.”
DeGeneres said she was mad at herself because she does not stand up to her attacker. “It’s really terrible, terrible story and the only reason that I am actually going to go into detail about it is because I want that other girls do not ever let someone do that,” she told Letterman.
The host added that they hid the abuse from her mother for a few years, and when she did and tell her that they don’t believe her “and then continued with [her husband] for 18 years.” DeGeneres said that finally, her mother left her husband “because he had changed the story so often.”

DeGeneres said she hopes that by coming forward about her sexual assault, that others will come forward with their stories.
“When I see people speak out, especially now, it makes me when a victim is not believed because we just don’t make things,” she said. “It’s just time for us to have a voice. It is time for us to have power.”
