Sen. Elizabeth Warren has officially moved in the direction of the 2020 presidential candidacy.
The Massachusetts Democrat announced on new year’s eve, she had launched an exploratory Committee for a possible presidential candidacy, and added that it would year, a formal announcement of the beginning of the next.
Warren, 69, broke on the national scene, calling for a decade ago during the financial crisis, more consumer protection. They quickly became also to one of the party’s more prominent liberal, how they fought, sometimes against the Obama administration officials about their response to the market turmoil.
Warren’s campaign is likely to revolve around the same theme, it is interwoven in speeches and policy proposals in the last few years: fight special interests, the payment of the mind to the nexus between racial and economic inequalities.
In the announcement of the creation of the exploratory committee, Warren claimed the government had “already companies that think bought and paid for by a bunch of billionaires and giant, they can dictate the rules to everyone,” it’s called “corruption, pure and simple.”

Warren was elected to represent the U.S. Senate in 2012, defeating Republican incumbent Scott Brown becoming the first woman to Massachusetts in the Senate.

In the Senate, Warren sits on several committees, including the banks, housing and urban development, health, education, labor and pensions, Armed Services, and aging.
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
After convincing President Barack Obama’s creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Warren has been tapped to help the Agency and serve as the assistant to the President in 2010.
“The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau will be charged a watchdog for the American consumer, with the enforcement of the most difficult financial protection in history. I am very grateful that Elizabeth has agreed to serve in this important role, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, is up and running and making it as effective as possible,” Obama said at the time.

She is also the chair of the Congressional Oversight Panel for the Troubled Asset Relief Program.

Warren spent more than three decades as a professor of law, with a focus on insolvency, contract and commercial law, according to her Senate biography. She is the recipient of the Lelia J. Robinson Award “from the Women’s Bar Association of Massachusetts and the bags-friend award for teaching from Harvard.
Apart from the Harvard Law School, Warren positions at the University of Michigan, the University of Texas School of Law and the University of Houston Law Center.
