Elections in Congo as a crisis postponed until march 2019

In the Congo, the elections in three constituencies delayed until march 2019. In the rest of the country, people will be provisionally on Sunday to the polls.

According to the independent electoral commission’s delay in the districts due to the ebola epidemic and the ongoing violence. The date for the election results is not modified and is still on 15 January planned.

The opposition sees the action as a “yet another strategy to make the election”. The new president is expected on January 18 the oath. Therefore, the votes in march, have no meaning.

The regions will not participate, Beni and Butembo in the North Kivu province and the town of Yumbi in the province of Mai-Ndombe.
