El Salvador will experience exceptional day without murders
El Salvador has in the past week for the first time in a long time, experienced the day in which no murders were committed. According to the police it was Wednesday, for 24 hours ‘quiet’.
The average number of murders in El Salvador was since the beginning of this year at about ten murders per day. The police, however, has no idea why Wednesday without murders was, reports the BBC. It was stressed that the police do not agreement or a truce concluded with gangs in the country.
El Salvador is known for the presence of large numbers of criminal gangs who force to incur because of the trade in drugs and robberies.
According to the United Nations ranks the country among the countries where, throughout most of the murders are committed. It then goes to around four thousand murders per year. In 2015 gold El Salvador as the most dangerous country in the world, due to a record number of murders per 100,000 inhabitants.
Also in other countries in Central America, the number of homicides each year is very high, including in Honduras and Mexico.
