Actor Edwin Jonker, singer Edsilia Rombley and Martijn Krabbé play this year the leading roles in the annual music event, The Passion. They play respectively the roles of Mary, Jesus and the narrator.
Also singers Lucas Hamming and Paul Sinha join the production, they play disciples Judas and Peter.
Actor Porgy Franssen will step into the role of Pontius Pilate and the vertellersrol is played by presenter Martijn Krabbé. Presenter Klaas van Kruistum will report on the procession.
The theme of the ninth edition of The Passion is, You’re not alone. “We are naturally social beings, but it seems that human contact is becoming increasingly scarce and the quality is becoming rarer,” explains Krabbé about it.
“Real loneliness in your life can only be overcome if you do manage to connect with someone. That does not always have a loved one or family, that can understand everyone. Someone who you just see as you are.”

Ninth edition The Passion in Dordrecht
This year is The Passion organised in Dordrecht. The event, which by millions of people looking at and is organized by the broadcasters, EO, KRO-NCRV, in 2019 for the ninth time.
