Dutch lawyer Peter Wakkie arrested in Spain
The Dutch lawyer Peter Wakkie Monday morning upon arrival at the airport Barajas (Madrid) in Spain was arrested. The Spanish police confirmed. Further details wanted the police not to give.
According to the Spanish onlinekrant El Confidencial is Wakkie arrested in connection with the payment of millions of euros kickbacks to family members of Russian ministers.
The bribery went through Zed Worldwide, a technology company that is part of the Dutch holding, Zed+, and in which the Spanish bank Santander, and publisher Grupo Planeta to an importance together with the Russian tycoon Mikhail Fridman.
Wakkie has been a director of the Dutch holding Z+, and applies, according to El Confidencial as the hand of Fridman.
