Dutch film wins prize at prestigious film festival in the Czech republic
The Dutch co-production the The the prestigious film festival in the Czech Karlovy Vary Special Jury prize won.

Dede of the Georgian director Mariam Khatchvani is about the life of a young woman who lives in a remote mountain village in Georgia where life is strictly controlled by age-old tradition. Dina’s grandfather has her married off to David. But Dina develops feelings for the handsome soldier Gegi and is the choice of whether they the tradition is not afraid to fight.
The film was developed with the support of the Sundance Screenwriters Lab and the Fabrique des Cinemas du Monde in Cannes. Dede is also supported by the Dutch initiative, The Dutch Film Club, a group of companies and individuals that offer financial assistance to talented filmmakers around the world.
