This is evident from searches for the month of september that opvroeg at hotel booking site, Trivago. “Especially the beach destinations instead do much better than last year,” said a spokesman.

The netherlands will experience a warm septembermaand. Last Tuesday and Wednesday, there were tropical temperatures, and also next week the mercury above 20 degree celsius.

On Trivago is especially more sought accommodations on the coast, it appears from searches in september (done between mid-August and the first week of september). So is the area of Scheveningen in september of almost 118 per cent more popular than last year.

Also popular are Nes (almost 141 percent) and Noordwijk (over 61 percent). Egmond aan Zee stretches on the coast the crown, with 200 percent more searches.

Huge run

Also at Fletcher Hotels does the warm weather: the hotels are this weekend for 99 percent full. “Normally, about 70 percent,” says general manager Rob Hermans. “There is a huge run going on, especially towards the coast. This boekingscijfers get we normally only see during the holiday season.”

The Dutch are in Europe the most avid users of short trips, says Hermans. “And as soon as the weather is nice, the books they flock.”

Possible, the najaarsdrukte also because the months of July and August were disappointing. “If it is the whole summer of 30 degrees had been, there was now likely to be tired of.”

Less abroad

The heat in his own country seems to be the trek to foreign cities to brake. Among others, Berlin and London are at Trivago a lot less in demand than last year september.

Amsterdam drops. Last year it was the favourite destination of the Dutch. Now, is that Scheveningen and Amsterdam two. Maastricht is three. Barcelona is four, the first foreign destination.
