Douwe Bob brings a tribute to victims of WWII
Douwe Bob Posthuma on may 4, a tribute to the victims of the Second world War. The singer-songwriter attends the annual remembrance day ceremonies at the National Monument Westerbork.
“For me it is a great honour to be asked to play during this important remembrance on this very important place,” says Posthuma.
The Memorial centre Camp Westerbork has asked of him, including his songs Pass It On, and Fine Line to play on 4 may. “It does me a lot that the Memorial I asked because the content of my songs.”
The remembrance day at war memorial Westerbork starts at 19: 00 with a silent procession. At 20.00 hours there will be a two minutes silence observed in memory of the victims of the Second world War. The Memorial centre Camp Westerbork invites everyone to the celebration to attend.
According to Posthuma may the history never be forgotten. “To the present to understand the past to know. It is, maybe now more than ever, it is very important that we not forget what had happened, so that this history never repeats. If I had to do my bit to can contribute, I do it with love.”
