Double exhibition on the life of Pierre Janssen
Municipal Museum Arnhem and the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam will organize the coming spring together, and in both buildings, an exhibition dedicated to Pierre Janssen, the man who half a century ago through the television a lot of people often for the first time, in contact brought with the visual arts.
He did that in a way that everyone could understand, and never be aware of. His program Artifice, that about a hundred episodes experienced, drew 2 million viewers. “A meesterverteller”, the exhibition was also called.
Janssen (1926-2007) was the director of the museum in Arnhem, where he was born, and curator of that in Schiedam, the netherlands. In Arnhem, he explained to an important collection, particularly of magical realists.
