A Senate race between Hillary Clinton ‘ s running mate, and a candidate is referred to as the Donald Trump of Virginia, is not likely to garner massive national attention, even if it is competitive—and now, the polls don’t show it.

President Trump’s approval rating took its toll on the Republicans in Virginia, in the 2017 state elections, while Clinton has drawn little positive attention because of their loss in 2016 in the election campaign. Nevertheless, both are of the utmost importance for this competition.

“If Hillary Clinton wants to come to Virginia, of course we would,” Ian Sams welcome, the campaign spokesman for Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., Fox News said. “Remember, you wanted to win Virginia in 2016, a five-and-a-half points.”

The top Republicans vying to challenge Kaine seem to ready for Hillary.

Corey Stewart, the Chairman of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors, is known for statues, to the fight against illegal immigration and the defense of the Confederate.

“We are not only going to tie him to her run for President, but the things you said, since November of 2016,” Stewart Fox News, said to refer to the recent Clinton-comment on the married women, the inability to think for themselves, if you vote for her.

“The Clinton campaign with regard to financial Trump campaign 7-1 in Virginia,” said Stewart. “Trump pulled his resources out of Virginia, to the competitive States. It was probably the right call, but even after all that, Clinton-Kaine only won by 5 points.”

Trump’s campaign fired Stewart a month before election day, the seat for joining a protest in front of the Republican National Committee.

Stewart has the name recognition after almost the Republican gubernatorial primary in 2017 to win.

This could change according to the condition of Del. Nick Freitas delivered a viral speech on the Virginia House floor about the Second Amendment and democratic rhetoric. Freitas said he received an overwhelming increase in volunteers, social media followers, and donors, since the speech. The Republican legislative leader in Virginia, as well as U.S. Sens. Rand Paul, R-Ky., and Mike Lee, R-Utah, approved Freitas.

To win, according to a March 17 debate in Richmond between Stewart and Freitas only two, so far, enough signatures for a vote before the 29. March-deadline—Freitas won a non-scientific survey of 217 tea party activist from 65 percent to 35 percent.

Freitas, similar to Kaine said presence to a ticket, Clinton should be “a big topic.”

“Hillary Clinton has done to alienate her level best, as many Americans as possible, by saying they are evil, cruel, and bigoted people, if you don’t vote for them,” Freitas told Fox News. “Sen. Kaine ran up next to her, and I’m tired of the discord.”

Freitas, a Green Beret veteran and Iraq war veteran, could unite Trump voters and chamber of Commerce voters, said Stephen Farnsworth, Director of the Center for Leadership and Media Studies at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

“Freitas observed. He pulls the Republican support for his campaign with viral video appeals to conservatives, while Farnsworth also said attractive for Republican Insider,” Fox News.

The Kaine campaign says the senator has bridged the partisan divide on issues such as immigration and veterans.

“His record of working together to get things done, is a focus of this campaign, regardless of who is to nominate the Republican” spokesman for Sams said.

Kaine once after the Russia-probe as a “betrayal investigation.”

“If I’m Tim Kaine, I would not run as Hillary Clinton’s running mate, but as a successful former Governor and U.S. senator.”

The June 12 primary could be wide open. The most recent scientific poll released by Christopher Newport University at the beginning of March—before Freitas speech—found Stewart, with 16 percent support against only 6 percent for Freitas and 7 percent for E. W. Jackson, a conservative black pastor, was published in 2013 by the GOP candidate for Vice-Governor. The survey showed that 66 percent were still undecided, while 5 percent backed other candidates. Stewart, Jackson, and Freitas all lose by a dozen points to Kaine in a hypothetical matchup.

“If I’m Tim Kaine, I would not run as Hillary Clinton’s running mate, but as a successful former Governor and U.S. senator,” Quentin Kidd, Director of the Wason center for Public Policy at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia, told Fox News. “There are few worse things that he could do, as Hillary Clinton to the state to campaign for him. It would not gain democratic support, but it is the energy of the Republican base would.”

The Washington Post reported last December, on a “who-but-Stewart” sentiment among some state and national Republicans.

“These so-called strategists who say, I can not win, have never won in Virginia,” said Stewart, later adding, “I’m going to controversial as the President himself.”

The region of the commonwealth, where the Republican is consistently hammered the Washington suburbs of Northern Virginia. This is a region, where Stewart has repeatedly won, and elected to the board of supervisors for Prince William County, the state, the second most populous County in the years 2002 and was its Chairman in the year 2006.

For his part, Freitas notes that he won in his district, which saw 68 percent in the past year, despite the country-wide wave election that democratic Gov. Ralph Northam wins with 9 points and a massive down-ticket gains for the Democrats in the state legislature.
