Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) will play the role of Simba taking in the remake of the popular Disney animatiefim by Jon Favreau. James Earl Jones was cast as Simba.
After the success of the live-action version of The Jungle Book, save director Jon Favreau and Walt Disney Studios again the hands together for a new version of The Lion King, the Disney animated film from 1994.
Donald Glover, who played the role of Simba, recently won the Golden Globe as Best Actor for his role in ‘Atlanta’, a series which he also co-written and produced. For 2018 are already 10 new episodes of this series planned.
In October, Glover cast as the young Lando Calrissian in the new Han Solo movie. This film, which as yet no title, is scheduled for 2018.
Favreau and Glover met earlier during a panel discussion about creativity, which Favreau Glover entrusted: “I see you actually every morning when I attach the 15-year-old son waking, because his door is a poster of you.”
