Dominant Porsche replaces the 24 hours of Le Mans to Formula E
The domination of Porsche in the 24 hours of Le Mans comes to an end. The German manufacturer withdraws from the endurance championship and will focus on the electric Formula E.
Porsche has won the last three editions of the classic in Le Mans, but reports Friday that it is going to focus on a team that from 2019 onwards in the Formula E comes out.
“Porsche puts on alternative and innovative drive concepts. The Formula E is in it for us the ultimate competitive environment,” said ceo Michael Steiner.
With the entry into the Formula E follows Porsche competitors like Audi, BMW and Mercedes, which earlier this week announced after next year, the DTM class, in exchange for an electric adventure.
