Dollywood unveils $37 million theme park expansion

Country legend Dolly on is to clear the air, to which its vision on the #MeToo movement and feminism in general. on said that she has experienced sexual harassment, but probably not to the extent as the other women who have spoken up had. The country singer also says that she relates to feminists, but is hesitant to label herself one, because she never saw herself that way.

If the 9-to-5 grind has got you down, there’s a perfect excuse to escape to Dollywood — Dolly on’s theme park has recently unveiled a $37 million, 6-acre expansion.

On 10 May, the land of the queen of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee., family amusement park opened its doors to the new “Wildwood Grove” Knoxville News Sentinel reports. The space features 11 nature-themed attractions inspired by on’s childhood in the Smoky Mountains.

“When I was a little girl growing up in the hills of the Smoky Mountains, I would often let my imagination just run away — something I still do now and dreams big dreams about what it would be like to venture off with a family of bears in the woods, or how much fun it would be to hitch a ride with the butterflies and dragonflies,” on said of the news, as per the South of Life.

“All the children splash and play in the creeks and ponds around the house and have this daydream about the world around us, and that is what is so special about Wildwood Grove,” she continued. “We have been able to create a new area for families to experience some of the same dreams we all had when we were little.”

Attractions include “The Dragonflier” roller coaster, the Hidden Lair of 4,000 square metres of play area, acorn-themed Treetop Tower ride, an open and an aquatic playground called the Wildwood Creek is an open, plus costumed characters, a “Smoky Mountain Mexican” restaurant called To Harvest, and more.

Better yet, the quiet atmosphere of Wildwood Grove is set with “The Wildwood Tree,” which “come to life” each evening from 15 June, illuminated by more than 650 butterflies and nearly 9,000 shining in the evening.

The Wildwood Grove expansion means a 20 percent increase in the size of Dollywood as a whole, part of a $300 million investment in the park, Dollywood Company President, Craig Ross, told the News Sentinel.

“We have been blessed with incredible growth and visitation of our guests. And as a result of that, just to keep up with the high standard of the service that we have, we came to the realization that we really need to expand the park,” he said of the update.
