Prosecutors accuse the Republican lawmaker and his wife to spend illegally more than $250,000 in campaign money for a family, vacation, school, tutoring, dentures, and other personal things; Jonathan Hunt reports from Los Angeles.

The filing against the San Diego members of Congress, comes as the justice Department moves forward with accusations against him and his wife, claiming the couple wasted more than $200,000 in campaign funds on personal travel, and expenses over several years.
Margaret hunter pleaded guilty earlier this month to a corruption charge and agreed to testify against her husband. She is to be sentenced planned, in September.

The Monday filing claims Hunter campaign spent to Finance money, travel, hotel rooms, bar tabs, Uber rides, and food during his meetings with a number of unknown women. In one case, Hunter flew to Reno, Nevada, January 2010, allegedly to attend a Convention for a non-Profit group. After the termination of the convention, Hunter and a female lobbyist traveled to a ski resort in Lake Tahoe.
He charged his campaign $1,008 for the stay in the hotel and room service and a further $180 to fly back to Washington DC

In March 2010, he also took a “double date” a road trip with the same lobbyists in Virginia Beach, according to the Federal Prosecutor’s office. He spent $905 in campaign funds to pay for a tab bar and a shared hotel room for the weekend, the filing said.
A spokesman for Hunter did not immediately return a Fox News request for comment on the allegations.
In another example, Hunter allegedly calculated to take his campaign of $93, a congressional aide for drinks and a further $21 for an Uber ride in back to his office.
Hunter has called the case against him is a political conspiracy and corruption cases denied. He said previously that his wife financed handled his campaign.

The filing does not say whether Hunter’s relationships with women were sexual. Prosecutors say, the “string of romantic liaisons is to lay as far away from a legitimate campaign or congressional activity, an argument that the hunters believed that these were the proper use of campaign funds.”
Hunter, an Iraq war veteran and early supporter of President Trump, the finds Republican areas in San Diego and Riverside count, won re-election last year despite being under indictment on corruption charges.
