Documentary about Herman Koch shows a man behind ‘masquerade’
The documentary Really Herman Koch is the Dutch film Festival premiere. The film by Pieter Verhoeff, who is the writer for decades, knows, shows the man behind the masquerade’.
The documentary will be on October 12, also broadcast on NPO2.
Verhoeff found that Koch in interviews personal questions out of the way and wants to make a film a different side of the writer. He was followed by the writer during the national book week and held various interviews. Also he talks with koch’s wife Amalia, and their son Pablo at the kitchen table.
Verhoeff and Koch have worked for years together to Jiskefet, but remained also after friends. Verhoeff directed, inter alia, Nynke and The Letter for the King. Koch gained international fame with his bestseller The Dinner.
