DJI provides for the drones of private browsing.
The Chinese dronemaker DJI is going to all of his drones with a private browsing, where no data are shared via internet.
The addition seems to be a response to privacy concerns around the company, reports The Verge Tuesday. The American army stopped recently, for example, temporarily with the use of DJI equipment, due to concerns about cyberkwetsbaarheden.
In the private browsing is it possible to get video of the drone to a mobile device to stream, but no further data over the internet shared with DJI or others. Also stream to video sites is in private browsing so it is not possible.
DJI warns that the function will not be available in places where local legislation requires that drones have an internet connection. According to the dronemaker is the function, especially suitable for users with “increased databeveiligingsbehoeften”.
The function is in the coming weeks via a software update.
